Double Jointed
November 24th 2006 04:36
Double-jointedness, also called hypermobility, hypermobility syndrome or hyperlaxity describes joints that stretch further than is normal.
Hypermobility generally results from one or more of the following:
• abnormally-shaped ends of one or more bones at a joint
• weak or stretched ligaments
• low muscle tone
• abnormal joint proprioception (an impaired ability to determine where in space parts of the body are, and how stretched a joint is)
The condition tends to run in families, suggesting that there may be a genetic basis for at least some forms of hypermobility.
The guy below is double-jointed, as this video he uploaded to YouTube demonstrates.
Here is the information he uploaded with it, "Yea im double jointed in alot parts of my body and idk i found out some of the weird stuff i can do decided to record it and yea...im not really proud of it so i wore some weird mask i found in my room....enjoy"
