The real Olympic gold - REMI GAILLARD

August 23rd 2008 05:56
He's at it again. Remi Gaillard is a French prankster . He gained a certain amount of attention in the French media after performing a well-documented series of pranks, including a famous appearance disguised as a Lorient football player in the 2002 Coupe de France final match where he would eventually take part on the celebrations and even greet the then president of France Jacques Chirac. So far Gaillard has appeared in several sport events, TV game shows and even political rallies, normally breaking the security measures easily.

This time, he is taking his Olympic gymnastic routine to the streets to a mixed response from the public. Personally, if someone did this on my bus or train I would applaud like a crazy person. I mean, a man with that physique wearing a leotard is worth applause in itself.

Billy Connolly

October 11th 2006 05:32
William "Billy" Connolly, CBE, D.Litt (born 24 November 1942) is a comedian, musician, presenter, and actor. He is sometimes known, especially in his native Scotland, by the nickname "The Big Yin" ("The Big One", a reference to his six-foot height).

It is as a stand-up comedian that Connolly is best known. His observational humour is idiosyncratic and often scatalogical. He talks about himself, who he is, where he's been, what he thinks and how he reacts to the world around him. He has outraged audiences, critics and, of course, the media with his free use of the word "fuck". He has used masturbation, blasphemy, defecation, flatulence, sex, his father's illness and his aunts' cruelty to entertain. By exploring these subjects with humour, Connolly has done much to strip away the taboos surrounding them. Yet he does not tell jokes in the conventional way. At the end of a concert the audience can be convulsed with laughter but few can remember a specific "funny" line

Ali G

September 25th 2006 06:53
Ali G is a satirical comic character invented and played by the British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Originally appearing on Channel 4's Eleven O'Clock show, Ali G is now the main character of Channel 4's Da Ali G Show.

Ali G's method for duping unsuspecting but extremely well-known guests into giving interviews (that later leave them looking foolish) is a very well kept secret. During the UK run of the show, his British producers never revealed the exact methods used to get interview requests granted. However, his rising popularity meant that he could no longer slip by the publicists of famous people. This was supposedly one of the main reasons for shifting the show to America
